There are several alternatives to
get to Huasquila. You can take a regular flight to Tena or
get there by bus or private car. There are three weekly flights
from and to Quito while buses leave every day at different
times. The road trip offers lots of attractions and beautiful
landscapes with volcanoes, waterfalls and the fact that you
drive through different climatic floors since you get to a
height above 4000m before you start descending into the Amazon
basin. You will be driving through two ecological reserves
and will notice the difference in the people and nature as
your trip continues.
Huasquila direct transfer (highly
recommended)
Our newest service is the direct
transfer. Huasquila has a brand new minivan which will pick
you up in your hotel and take you non-stop to Huasquila (stops
possible if you wish to take pictures, go to the bathroom,
etc). We will drive you back to your destiny and you will
enjoy having a private minivan which adapts to your special
wishes.
Plane
With a daily flight to Tena travelling to Huasquila by plane is very simple and practical. The flight lasts approx. 20 minutes. At your arrival Huasquila staff will pick you up from the airport. The ticket costs about 65 USD (one way, incl. taxes). We will arrange all reservations and will advise you on any questions you might have about the flight.
Bus
Several bus companies travel to Tena
every day. “Transportes Baños”, “Amazonas” and “Jumandy”
are the most famous ones. The bus leaves from Quito´s
main bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre) and the trip lasts
approx. 5 hours. When you get into the bus you have to tell
the driver that you want to get off in Cotundo, from where
we will pick you up to take you to Huasquila. There are comfortable
buses (executive buses) and normal ones. The ticket costs
about 6 USD. Please contact Huasquila before buying your ticket
to organize your arrival and so that we may help you to choose
the right type of bus.
Private car
If you want to have more freedom
when travelling and have a jeep you can make the trip on your
own. The journey lasts approx. 4 hours and it's full of attractions.
The road is better than it was in the past so nowadays you
drive 2 hours on a perfect, concrete/pavement road and 2 hours
on a dirt road which is not in the best condition.
